Enterprise Intent Accelerator: Equipping Women Entrepreneurs to Build Sustainable Businesses

Organized by Rugori Investment Network, the Enterprise Intent Accelerator brought women entrepreneurs together for two days of practical learning focused on leadership, business vision, decision-making, and financial discipline.
Building a successful enterprise requires more than a good business idea. It takes a clear vision, strong leadership, sound financial decisions, and the ability to build a business that can grow and thrive over time.
Recognizing the importance of these foundations, Rugori Investment Network (RIN) organized the Enterprise Intent Accelerator (EIA) on 26–27 March 2025 at the Kigali Convention Centre. Facilitated by HMF Advisory Ltd, the two-day training provided a space for women entrepreneurs to strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset, reflect on their leadership, and develop the knowledge needed to build sustainable enterprises.
Building a Vision for Growth
The accelerator opened with sessions focused on enterprise intent and growth vision, encouraging participants to consider the direction of their businesses and the ambitions guiding their entrepreneurial journeys.
Through practical learning and reflection, participants explored how to define their business vision and align their decisions with their long-term goals. The sessions emphasized the importance of intentional leadership in shaping the direction of an enterprise and creating a foundation for sustainable growth.
Leadership identity and decision integrity were also central to the first day's programme. These discussions provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on their roles as business leaders, the principles guiding their decisions, and the responsibility that comes with building and managing an enterprise.
Strengthening Financial Discipline and Decision-Making
The second day focused on the systems and financial discipline required to sustain a business beyond its early stages.
Participants explored how to design a vision that outlives the business owner, highlighting the importance of building enterprises with a long-term perspective. The programme also addressed decision resilience and capital discipline, including practical application of financial decision-making principles.
These sessions highlighted the need for entrepreneurs to approach capital with discipline, make informed business decisions, and think beyond immediate gains. By strengthening these capabilities, business owners can better position their enterprises to manage challenges, pursue growth opportunities, and build lasting value.
Learning, Mentorship, and Connection
Beyond the training modules, the Enterprise Intent Accelerator created opportunities for participants to connect, exchange experiences, and learn from one another. Networking and interactive sessions encouraged conversations around the realities of running a business, while reflection and question-and-answer sessions allowed participants to engage with the topics covered.
The accelerator recognized that entrepreneurship is not a journey undertaken in isolation. Access to relevant knowledge, supportive networks, and opportunities to learn can help women entrepreneurs navigate challenges with greater confidence and make more informed decisions about the future of their businesses.
The programme concluded with an evaluation, a keynote address from a Mastercard Foundation representative, and an awarding ceremony, marking the completion of the two-day learning experience.
Investing in Women, Strengthening Enterprises
For Rugori Investment Network, the Enterprise Intent Accelerator reflects the importance of equipping women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and capabilities needed to grow sustainable businesses.
Access to capital is an important part of enterprise development, but the ability to manage resources, make sound decisions, lead effectively, and plan for the future is equally essential. By creating opportunities for women entrepreneurs to strengthen these capabilities, the accelerator supports a more deliberate and sustainable approach to business growth.
As participants take these lessons back to their enterprises, the focus extends beyond immediate business needs to the foundations required for long-term growth, resilience, and impact.
A space for women entrepreneurs to learn, grow, and lead.
Through initiatives such as the Enterprise Intent Accelerator, Rugori Investment Network continues to support women entrepreneurs in building stronger businesses, developing their leadership, and pursuing a future where their enterprises can create lasting value.
